Arbitration Practitioner Yehia Shahine joins the firm, will focus on complex commercial transactions

ALC Alieldean Weshahi & Partners is pleased to announce that Yehia Shahine has joined the firm.

Yehia specializes in complex commercial transactions and has a proven track record in the arbitration of multifaceted civil and commercial disputes. He has served as counsel to large national and multinational companies in fields including sports, telecommunications, construction, agrifoods and oil and gas, among others.

“I am delighted that Yehia is joining the firm to enhance our offering to clients who require counsel on complex matters that frequently cut across domestic and international jurisdictions,” said Managing Partner Bahaa Alieldean.

Yehia’s track record includes high-profile litigation cases related to telecommunications, commercial agencies, distribution agreements, labour and competition matters. He joins the firm from private practice and is a veteran of Baker McKenzie International, Shearman & Sterling, Mena Associates in association with Amereller Rechtsanwälte and the Egyptian Competition Authority.

Yehia holds a Bachelor of Law (license en droit) from l’Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and is also a graduate of the Faculty of Law at Cairo University. He also holds a master’s degree in business and tax law from and a second master’s in international and European business law, both from l’Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. He was reconized as a “Next Generation Partner” in the Legal 500 arbitration ranking (EMEA, 2020 edition) and a rising star in the same ranking for both 2017 and 2018. Yehia was admitted to the Cairo Bar in 2009 and is registered as an arbitrator in CRCICA’s list.
